Meeting of January 31, 2008
Was called to order at 7:00p.m.          Attendance:  16 members, 4 guests.   

Meeting Officials

Theme: Word of the Day:   Camaraderie

Table Topic: What’s the traditional festival in your country if you were in:

Table topic session was evaluated by Yachan. 

Prepared Speeches:

1:Charles gave the No. 1 speech evaluated by Addy

Entitled: “My first blind date”

Speech Evaluation:

l         Didn’t use any notes as the icebreaker;

l         Good vocal variety;

l         Good eye contacts

l         Need to be more relaxed and don’t say sorry on stage

2:Dinah gave the No. 9 speech evaluated by Robin

Entitled: “Are you dressing for success?”

Speech Evaluation:

l         Confident and relax

l         Need to tell the audience what to persuade at the beginning;

l         Improve on body language, elbow, fingers…

l         Better say something about how importance is dressing

3:David gave the No. 3 speech evaluated by Sally

Entitled: “”Speech Evaluation:

l         Started to ask questions

l         Expert in Hongkong – good convinces

l         Need to stress on the point – stronger beginning

l         Take more concern on people who don’t come to Hongkong

4:Robin gave the advanced speech evaluated by Dinah:

l         Read as if the speaker is talking with the audience

Need to improve”

l         Greeting

l         Explain the jargons

l         Stronger conclusion

l         Statistics are hard to absorb, present some pictures might be better
