Prepared Speeches:

1:

Betty Ling gave the No. 3 speech evaluated by Sunny Lin

Entitled: “Learning Cycles”

Speech Evaluation:

Try to utilize more space on the stage.  Most of the time you were pretty stationary.  You had very good vocal variety.  Your topic was very interesting and useful.  At the beginning, you asked 4 questions which were a bit confusing for the audience.  Keep the questions a bit shorter and applicable to your speech.  Your beginning could be a bit more fluid as well.

2:

Jeffery gave the No. 5 speech evaluated by Yachan Dong

Entitled: “Get ready for the Skiing Trip!”

Speech Evaluation:

Jeffery volunteered to fill in for this opening at the last minute.  Thank you Jeffery.  The points in your speech could be developed more.  You need to present your points/ideas with more confidence – be sure to keep voice tone and volume consistent.

3:

Lily Wang gave the No. 2 speech evaluated by Chris Drumgoole

Entitled: “Don’t know what to talk about?”

Speech Evaluation:

Lily always smiles – very pleasant for an audience member.  You can move around more, utilize more stage space, and give the other parts of the room more attention.  Your conclusion was a bit weak – highly suggest giving a summary of all points introduced.  Your story at the beginning was a good lead in to the speech – brought the speech a personal element.  Show your visuals more prominently, and then put them down once shown.  They could become a distraction.

Awards:
