| | Prepared Speech #1 | | Speaker: | Mary Tang | Evaluator: | Jeffrey Liu | | Speech No. & Type: | 3 – Get to the Point | | Speech Title: | | Something about Eco-Tourism | | Speech Evaluation: | | · Good speech, great topic – very important. · It showed that you really put time into preparing for the speech. · Your attitude is very good and pleasant. · You didn’t seem too nervous. · Pretty much the whole time, you stood still in the center of the room. Try to move around a bit more; be more fluid. · Suggest that you introduce any definitions in the beginning. (ecological) · Be careful how you use the word “However” – suggest when you present another point of view. · Ensure you emphasize all of your points very clearly. It was sometimes difficult to separate your points. · You have made great progress since you joined! | | Prepared Speech #2 | | Speaker: | Chris Drumgoole | Evaluator: | Ben Wu | | Speech No. & Type: | 3 – Get to the Point | | Speech Title: | | Act Now! A 4-Point Plan to Traffic Harmony | | Speech Evaluation: | | · You did use notes, but you used them in a natural way – audience did not notice too much. · You could improve your eye-contact – seemed you scan the room instead of locking eyes for a few seconds. · 4 points may be too much; suggest you present 3 instead of 4 – easier for audience to keep track of and understand. · Good structure – clear beginning, body, and end. | | Awards | | Best Table Topics: | YaChan Dong | | Best Speaker: | Chris Drumgoole | | Best Evaluator: | Ben Wu | | Announcements | - Remember that next week’s meeting is also on Monday, not Thursday.
