CC Project No. 2: Organize your speech

Speech Title: If I were the president of CCTMC

Robin shared his thoughts and changes he wanted to bring to the club, if he were the president of CCTMC.

Operational level, there are standard rules and setting for toastmaster club, some of them might not perfect for everyone. For example, timer card might not suitable for people who are color blind. Use object, other tokens would help.

From Organization level, move our meeting actives online would be an option, since not everyone can make it to the meeting venue on certain date every time.

Business model level, toastmasters would bring the speaking and evaluation skills to business environment, maybe there are possible ways of selling these skills and make profit.

Project No.7: Research your topic

Speech Title: Potatoes’ Counter- Attack

Potato is an indispensable part of the table for most families all over the world. Potato was first domesticated around 8000 and 5000 BC, when it was first introduced to Europe, it was not adopted by nobilities, only poor and animal eat them. But Irish people like it, because they are easy to grow and provide food resource.

1845, millions of people starve from famine and millions people immigrate to America. It was American who make the potato stars, by using celebrities to promote eating potatoes. Fast food provides chips, which become a new symbol of American culture. 1 /4 of the potato provided by China to the world’s supply. Farm yield only 1/3 of the developed economic. Potato has great potential for the economy.

Compared with corn, wheat, potato has lower energy, fat, but more vitamin C, it’s a healthy food, and can be make into different food products.

It’s has been a long way, over hundreds years for potato to change it’s states in the history and got it’s counter attack, same method apply as long as you cherish the hopes.
