CCTMC Meeting Minutes 11 August, 2016

Dear toastmasters:

Congratulations on the success of our last week's Mandarin Humorous Contest. We had a fun night with many guests from other toastmaster clubs.

First we had four contestants for Mandarin Humorou Contest and their topics are:

1.新思路 新通道 - Evita

2.不可思议的印度 - Cathy Chen

3.每个硬币都有两面 - Cathy Zhao

4.智商影响下的沟通能力 - Zhe

They cracked us up. Evita shared a story at work that things changed her perception towards colleagues. Cathy Chen shared a number of fun stories happend in India - her advanturous experience! We learned that we will need to keep our eyes open when travel in India trains - on our bags and ourselves! Glad she made home safe. Her speech was also smoothy, like usual, and energetic - I guess that explains how the award goes.

We also had a fabulous moment with Cathy Zhao when she gave an enlightening story happened in Sweden, during her exchange programme. She experienced a highly professional manner of her Tourist guide - a Swedish guy, who kept his job done well - multi-task. Moreover, he answered Cathy's questions with a philosophy: every coin has two sides, and when you take it, you take their both sides, pros and cons. Cathy felt then more confident about her life difficulties.

As the last contestant, I talked about multiple hilarious stories happened between geeks or wise men: Sheldon from 'The Big Bang Theory' and Rancho from 'Three Idiots', as well as various jokes happened under multi-culture environment, for instance, in China and the UK. Well we all had a good time. Except for those, I am not sure, with tears.

The second part of the meeting was Evaluation Contest. We had Chao, Evi, Ervlyn, Flora and Joyce, five evaluator for the Target Speaker and each of them had presented a structured, analytical, inspiring and comprehensive speech. The three winners are: Joyce, Ervlyn and Evi. I will check the next Target Speech vacancy - probably will sign up one. Who doesn't want to be that lucky speaker!

Alright, our next contest is on Thursday as usual. Make sure you don't miss this one
