| CCTMC MEETING MINUTES – DECEMBER 8, 2011 |
|
My Dearest Fellow Toastmasters, With Julia’s high energy and good preparation, she has received good reviews after the meeting, Congratulations! Spending 3 hours communing everyday on subway line 1 is a physical and mental challenge, except for Waves – it’s an opportunity to practice racing up and down the stairs; it’s an opportunity for getting intimate with strangers when his face touches theirs. There will always be lights at the end of the tunnel. Yes, Elyse says, if you “Focus on one thing at a time; rest when you are tired”; and “be curious” - the three things we can learn from children. Breaking the ice isn't easy, and Christy pulled it off; Identifying where our strength and weakness are is the right place to start before we can work on them. Do you want to be a leader? Can you be a leader? Can you be a successful leader? These are the 3 questions we, as toastmasters ought to ask ourselves, Charly said. Contrary to what most people think, knowledge and experience are not the prerequisites for being a leader, but rather the desire to succeed and make things better. Aim your goal high, Julia said, so you will reach high. Next week, we will hold Grand Club Officer Election meeting at our regular meeting venue. If you are interested in providing our members services the way you’d like to be treated, if you simply like to reach out to others, or if you like to develop critical skills for leading a team, you are welcome to join CCTMC club officer team to serve for the next six months, from January 2012 to June 2012. Now, a little selfish promotion for the scheduler role. This is an extremely rewarding role If you like to develop your communication skills and empowering others. Don’t worry about whether you can write a perfect report on Thursday night or Friday morning. You don’t have to do it the way I do it. Your job is to have the roles filled sufficient time ahead of each meeting, you can discover your own strength in doing that. We have the following club officer roles to elect: 1. President (currently held by Nathan) 2. Vice President Education (currently held by Cathy Chen) 3. Vice President Membership (currently held by Yann) 4. Vice President Public Relations (currently held by Cathy Li) 5. Treasurer (currently held by Jeri) 6. Secretary (currently held by Ann) 7. Sergeant at Arms (currently held by Arnaud) 8. Scheduler (currently held by Frieda) 9. Librarian (currently held by Max) 10. Web master (currently held by Justin) Here is a general description of these roles: http://www.toastmasters.org/Members/OfficerResources/ClubOfficerResources/ClubOfficerRoles.aspx Nominate yourself or other members for these officer roles by sending Nathan an email at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it Looking forward to seeing you at the grand election that will shape our club for the next 6 months! |
