| CCTMC Meeting Minutes – December 29, 2011 |
|
My Dearest Fellow TMers, Before we say goodbye to 2011, I’d like to congratulate you for growing up with CCTMC for another year. Just like a 6 year old, CCTMC is full of energy and curiosity because of who you are. Congratulations Jeri, I really loved how you used your knowledge on Chinese Medicine to give us suggestions on a healthier life. I am sure people who were at the meeting will agree with me. Congratulations, Aaron on completing the first ever “Grammarian” role, don’t be afraid of making small mistakes, that’s how we grow beyond what we think is possible; Congratulations, Susie, you have completed 10 speeches and reached an important milestone –hooray! Blood is thicker than water – We Chinese value family tie. Today we learned more about John and what made him “him” today. With two elder brothers, John had been pampered until one day, the very important figure or the “backbone” of the family left them behind. Since then, the brothers have worked together as a team to keep the family strong. “Mirror, mirror on the wall, is there a place with no exams at all?” Sue takes us to Finland, a country where you don’t have to take any exams in school, and students perform better academically. Susie keeps surprising us with her inspirations. She helps her father realizing a dream, which is to watch the World Football Cup onsite in 2014. Unlike the normal thinking of “having -> doing -> being”, Susie says, I am the person who can make this happen; when she is being such a person, she finds out how things can be done and each week her dream becomes more and more real; I would not be surprised when 2014 comes, the father-daughter team will finally declare their victory -- impossible is nothing. Congratulations, Prof. Hale! Before leaving China to South Africa, you won the last “best speaker” award of this year. We followed you on an interesting journey to Cambridge, we laughed with you; we visited museums and enjoyed scenery with you; the best part of this is: the 7 minute trip to all this fun place was free. 2012 is coming, are you ready? Are you happy with what you have achieved in year 2011? What are your expectations for 2012? Some of us will be celebrating it at Cathy Chen’s house on Dec. 31. You are welcome to join us at count down for a very special year! Frieda Lee |
