Some info about "the tone of speaking" training: For years, the study of speaking in China has focused almost exclusively on vocabulary and grammar. However, this focus comes at the expense of perhaps the most important skill needed in order to give professional presentations, deliver attention grabbing speeches or even to simply appreciate the true beauty of spoken English. This skill is the accurate use of tone, emphasis and speech pace. There is a well-known English expression that says, 'it is not what you say, but rather how you say it'. Great speech makers such as Martin Luther- King, J. F. Kennedy and more recently, Bill Clinton and Tony Blair owe their success as much to the powerful delivery of their words, as to the actual choice of vocabulary.
Mr Rupert Munton (UK) is one of the most sought after presentation and speech coaches in Beijing today. In addition to training others in the art of powerful presentations, he has also been called upon by large multi-nationals to provide the voice for their promotional DVDs and has appeared numerous times on Chinese television in advertisements and panel discussions. In his speech for Toastmasters, Rupert will call upon his vast experience in public speaking to outline the key methods which when used, will dramatically increase the impact and effectiveness of your presentations. This talk will cover the following areas:
* Confident body language. * Emphasizing key words. * The five methods of emphasis. * Demonstrating emotion through tone.
